Fashions fade, style is eternal.- Yves Saint Laurent
One of our goals in starting this blog is to celebrate the beauty and style of all women whether they are thirty-five or sixty-five. Age is really just a number and being stylish isn’t just for women in their twenties anymore.
There are a whole crop of stunningly chic women in fashion and the blogosphere, right now, who are embracing their age and looking fabulous doing it. We’re celebrating these women by launching our new Style Over 50 Series which will feature a different woman, whose style we admire, each week. This week’s pick is model, muse and designer Ines de la Fressange.
They just don’t come any chicer than Ines and we’ve adored her effortless Parisian style for ages. As a former muse to Karl Lagerfeld, Ines has always been at the top of the fashion game. She’s currently the mind behind the reinvention of the iconic Roger Vivier footwear label (what we wouldn’t give for a pair of Vivier flats!). And just last year she launched a capsule collection of French inspired basics with Uniqlo.
Ines really is the essence of Parisian chic. She manages to make even the most utilitarian pieces, like Converse sneakers and raincoats, look like couture. And she’s proof that you can reinvent yourself no matter what age you are. Cheers to Ines!
