The greatest wealth is health.- Virgil
Happy 2015 everyone!! With a new year here and the clock already ticking, my mom and I have both made the commitment to make this our healthiest year ever. For the most part, we generally eat healthy (except for the occasional French fry run to McDonald’s!), but we’ve decided to really kick things up a notch by juicing, making green smoothies and starting a new exercise routine. The one upside to this new healthy living quest? Shopping for all the new essentials that will help us accomplish our goals!
We want to look like this!! It’s possible, right??!!
One of the first things we knew we needed was an easy-to-use juicer. We’ve had different juicers in the past but always got discouraged with using them because they came with so many different parts which made clean up a mess! Breville’s Juice Fountain Multispeed Juice Extractor totally solved this problem for us. It’s super easy to use and makes juicing a breeze. We’ve been using it everyday for the past week and have tried out some delicious green juice recipes from Martha Stewart’s new Clean Slate cookbook.
If you’re looking to make a few healthy tweaks to your diet, this is the cookbook that will help you do it. It’s full of gorgeous pictures, helpful tips and quick, easy-to-make recipes.
In order to keep track of those calories, we each picked up a Fitbit Activity and Sleep Tracker. The one we chose clips on to your clothes and tracks steps taken, stairs climbed, calories burned, distance traveled and sleep patterns. We just started using it so we’ll see how it goes!
Do you have any fitness and health goals for 2015? If you do, I’d love to hear them! Here’s to a happy, healthy start to the New Year!
