Five Over 50 Style Instagram Accounts to Follow

Age has very little to do with personal style.- Dorrie Jacobson

My mom and I are absolutely obsessed with Instagram- we’ve literally scrolled what must be thousands of miles with our thumbs!  The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to scroll through my feed and see what my favorite interior designers, fashionistas and style influencers are up too.  Lately, we’ve been noticing a big trend in over 50 women becoming major players in the style stakes.  Many of these bloggers have amassed thousands of followers and are working with major brands like Polaroid and Steve Madden.  It really couldn’t be a more exciting time for over 50 style.  We’ve rounded up five of our top favorite over 50 style Instagram accounts to follow.

Model & Designer Linda V. Wright

Model and fashion designer Linda V. Wright lives and works in Paris and has one of the chicest accounts and blogs.  We literally can’t get enough of her Parisian chic style.  She has a super interesting life story as well.  Born in Texas, she moved to Paris in the late 1970s and worked in the creative department at Ralph Lauren which she credits with greatly influencing her style.  We love everything she wears! Her look is a mix of casual American separates and posh European accessories.  Jeans are a major staple in her wardrobe and she often wears them with cashmere sweaters and scarves from her own eponymous line.  She is also the mother of two very stylish and gorgeous daughters who she sometimes features on the ‘gram.  Go follow her!

Style blogger & former Playboy Bunny Dorrie Jacobson.

At 84, former Playboy Bunny Dorrie Jacobson is twice as stylish as women half her age.  We love her fearless attitude and no nonsense approach to aging.  She is a firm believer that women shouldn’t come with “a sell by date” and we couldn’t agree more.  Dorrie believes in expressing your individuality through personal style at any age.  We couldn’t be more inspired by her!

Judith Boyd, the voice behind Style Crone, in Denver.

Judith’s lovely blog, Style Crone, is actually one of the first blogs we started reading over ten years ago.  We were immediately captivated by her sense of high fashion and flair for wearing hats.  She also writes beautifully and has shared the journey of losing her beloved husband, Nelson, with her audience.  There were many days when we looked to Judith’s blog for advice on how to navigate through grief and loss.  She is the mother of a beautiful daughter, Camille, and also worked in the mental health field for many years.  Her collection of vintage fashion is beyond amazing and she’s always a new find with her readers.  You’ll love her!

Lifestyle blogger Honey Good in Chicago.

Susan “Honey” Good is the voice behind an amazing online community celebrating women over 50.  She is a wife, mother, grandmother, author and world traveler.  Her zest for life is truly inspirational and she tackles some difficult topics, like blending families and surviving loss, on her site.  Honey’s advice is always down-to-earth and makes you feel like you’re talking to your best friend.  Her site is packed with style and beauty advice too.

Alyson Walsh- the voice behind That’s Not My Age.

London based Alyson Walsh writes the hilariously named That’s Not My Age blog which we love.  She is a former fashion editor, freelance journalist and author.  Her style is perfectly curated and has a bit of edge.  She is the author of the insanely chic book Know Your Style: Mix it, Match it, Love it which offers style advice and features some of the world’s most fashionable women from Linda Rodin to Caroline Issa.  We love how she mixes tried-and-true basics with of-the-moment street wear pieces.

If you’re not following these stunning ladies on Instagram, be sure to check them out.  We can’t wait to see what they do next.
