All you need are a skirt, a jacket, a pair of pants and a raincoat.- Betty Halbreich
Since we talked about Bergdorf Goodman’s very own Linda Fargo yesterday, I thought it would be fun to discuss the store’s oldest and most legendary personal shopper, Betty Halbreich. Betty is amazingly chic and at 86 years old is still going strong, working at the store nearly everyday of the week. She came to working late in life, out of necessity, following a breakdown after a divorce. Betty is proof that it’s never too late to turn your life around.

She’s had an amazing career and has dressed everyone from Park Avenue socialites to Joan Rivers. She insists that fashion really should be simple and that all any woman needs to look chic are a few stunning pieces. Betty is also not a fan of trends or cell phones for that matter!
She recently published a memoir called I’ll Drink to That about her life and experiences. It really is a fascinating read and offers a great look into the insular world of high fashion in New York. I’ve been reading it and love it!
She’s currently working on a project with Lena Dunham about her life so stay tuned for that!
And of course, since Betty is this chic, you just had to figure that her apartment would be stunning as well. And it is.

Here’s to Betty!
